Dr. Margaret A. Kopchick completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she graduated with distinction in 1975. During her undergraduate studies, she received a citation from the American Medical Woman's Association for scholastic achievement. She also completed medical school at the University of Michigan, graduating with honors in 1982. While at the University of Michigan, she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. She completed her internship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan and her residency at the University of Iowa's Hospitals and Clinics.
While Dr. Kopchick has expertise in all areas of dermatology, she is especially interested in Mohs surgery, general dermatology, and cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Kopchick is board certified and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She also holds memberships with the American Academy of Dermatology, Atlanta Dermatological Society, and American Society for MOHS Surgery. When she is not working, Dr. Kopchick enjoys spending time with her family, helping at her church and golfing.
Russell R. Burken, M.D.
Dr. Russell R. Burken completed his undergraduate studies at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where he graduated Suma Cum Laude in 1978. He was also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to medical school at the University of Iowa, graduating with honors in 1984. While at the University of Iowa, he was president and member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Iowa's Hospitals and Clinics.
While Dr. Burken has expertise in both medical and cosmetic dermatology, he takes special interest in the treatment and prevention of skin cancers and specializes in MOHS treatment. Mohs micro-graphic surgery is the most effective and state-of-the-art procedure for skin cancer today, which offers the highest potential for recovery - even if the skin cancer has been previously treated by another method and recurred.
Dr. Burken is board certified and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He also holds memberships with the American Academy of Dermatology, Atlanta Dermatological Society, and American Society of Dermatology Surgery. He is a former affiliate faculty member with the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Burken is an avid fisherman and when he is not at work or with his family, you can find him at his favorite fishing hole.

Physician Assistant, Peter Gray joined the Toccoa Clinic Department of Dermatology in the Fall of 2006. He is a graduate of the College of Charleston and earned a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant studies from the Medical University of South Carolina. He is the only graduate of the Medical University PA program to obtain a fellowship in dermatological surgery. In his off time, Peter enjoys spending time with his family and participating in medical missions work.
